EHA in BC has an immediate need for a sponsor for Eugene. He is 16 years old and in grade 9. Eugene is very bright, and motivated to do well in secondary school. He said to his previous sponsor, “I will not let you down. During my December break, I will teach my little sister how to read and pray”. For several years, Parkland Secondary on the Sannich Peninsula has supported EHA BC by sponsoring a student. Work began in 2010, through the efforts of the Parkland Interact Club and the Student Council, and Kenyan student, Lewis Githinji Njorogo, began school with an initial two year commitment. With activities and events held to raise additional funds, Parkland was able to secure four years of tuition for Lewis, fondly referred to as their Kenyan Panther, and the hope is to extend beyond that with future fundraising efforts.
